Program
Overview for Sustainable Cities and Transport
At WRI India Ross Center we focus on 10 integrated
solutions to urban challenges. Through applied research, tools,
hands-on advice, and by tapping our network of global experts, we accelerate
transformative urban initiatives that have the power to change Indian cities
into thriving, equitable and low-carbon places that are good for people and the
planet.

Position Overview :
Under sustainable cities program we use technical expertise, cutting-edge research and on-the-ground partnerships to design solutions that enable sustainable city growth. We collaborate with local and national decision-makers across states to implement projects that overcome the challenges of urbanization and make cities that are better for people. WRI India is working closely with Ministry of
Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India on various initiatives and one of them is Pilot on Formulation of Local area Plan (LAP) and Town Planning Scheme (TPS) under AMRUT sub-scheme. WRI is anchoring the project in Aizawl and looking for an associate candidate with good planning, analytics, design and communication skills. Selected candidate will conduct research, liaison with partners, government agencies and experts, undertaking analysis and synthesize solutions towards project deliverables and on-site project implementation. Key
Responsibilities:
The candidate will undertake and oversee a range of responsibilities
for the projects as are listed below:
- Project
organization and stakeholder coordination
- Data
collection, collation and analysis.
- Preparation
of necessary drawings, reports, presentations, graphics, etc.
- Assistance
in conducting community awareness, capacity building programs, trainings
and workshops.
- Assist in
primary data collection, compilation, analysis and visualization
- Preparation
of necessary drawings, reports, presentations, graphics, etc.
- Assistance
in conducting community awareness, capacity building programs and
workshops.
- Assist the
team in timely delivery of activities as outlined in the project.
Required
Attributes and Credentials:
- Master’s
degree in Urban Planning / Regional Planning / City Planning/
Environmental Planning / Housing/ or relevant urban planning courses.
- Candidates
with Minimum 2 years to maximum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency
in English is must (Reading, writing and communicating)
- Working
Knowledge of Mizo is an added advantage
- Excellent
communication skills to clearly advise the stakeholders on plans, policies
and financial models
- Proficiency
in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- Proficiency
in GIS, AutoCAD and MS Office
- Good
graphic skill is an added advantage.
- Ability to
present complex information in a clear and concise manner, think
creatively, work calmly and enthusiastically.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI
