Fund Director

 FGM Global Action Fund

The Ending FGM Global Action Fund is a new pooled fund and movement support hub designed to drive resources at scale to reach a global "tipping point" so that female genital mutilation (FGM) is finally and fully eliminated.

 

While public support for FGM and FGM prevalence are declining in many communities, civic space is shrinking, authoritarianism is rising, and anti-rights movements are increasingly well coordinated. Ending FGM will require new funding and new mechanisms able to drive resources at scale to survivor- and frontline-led movements for change.

 

This new pooled fund will provide an innovative funding mechanism for a range of donors spanning the bilateral, philanthropic, and corporate sectors. The Fund will provide a direct pipeline of support to frontline activists and organisations working on ending FGM around the world. Frontline funding will be augmented by a movement support hub that will strengthen key intermediary organisations and partners specialising in advocacy and communications, resource mobilisation, technical assistance, and survivor care and wellbeing.

 

This new fund was designed based on a multi-year field assessment conducted by Wallace Global Fund and other partners, which included extensive consultations with survivors and a wide range of actors in the FGM movement ecosystem. A planning group of FGM survivor-experts, activists, and advisors will guide the fund's inception and a formal Advisory Committee will guide the Fund's implementation.

 

The FGM Fund will be fiscally hosted by Women Win, a global women's fund based in the Netherlands. The Fund is recruiting a Director to lead the set up and sustainability of this new mechanism. The Fund will be officially launched in Kenya in September 2026.

 

About the Position

The FGM Global Action Fund is seeking a visionary, strategic, and mission-driven Director to lead the fund through its inception phase towards growth and impact. The Fund Director is responsible for overall leadership, strategy, governance, fund management, external partnerships, fundraising, and sustainability. Back-office support will be provided by Women Win, the Fund's fiscal host.

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced non-profit or movement leader with a strong understanding of feminist approaches, demonstrated representation and fundraising success, solid operational and people management skills, and a deep commitment to advancing the global movement to end FGM.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  •  Lead the development of the Fund's vision, mission, values and long-term strategic goals
  • Uphold the strategic direction of the Fund in alignment with its vision, mission and values, and lead execution towards its impact objectives
  • Advise and collaborate closely with the Advisory Committee on governance and strategic priorities
  • Develop an annual workplan and operational budget for Advisory Committee approval
  • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation and strategic partnerships
  • Provide regular updates on Fund performance, risks, and opportunities

 

Fund Management

  •  Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and compliance alongside regular communication with the fiscal host
  •  Ensure sound financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and risk mitigation

Project Manager – Ecotechnology

Job Description

In MSSRF, at the Ecotechnology Programme Area undertakes multi-sectoral, interdisciplinary projects supported by diverse funding sources including FCRA-funded initiatives, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, and Government-funded programmes, PFMS Projects. These projects span eight sites across India: Puducherry, Villupuram, Pudukottai, Thiruvaiyaru, Kannivadi, Vadugapatti, Ganjam, and Aurangabad. Each funding agency brings distinct financial and administrative compliance requirements, making effective project management critical for operational success.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Financial Management 
Extend support to monitor expenditure in alignment with funder-specific guidelines.
Provide necessary support to prepare and submit financial reports, including reimbursable cost claims, PFMS uploads, and donor-specific documentation.
Ensure timely documentation and submission of bills, vouchers, and related compliance materials.

Administrative support
Facilitate team for ERP entries on transactions, purchase requisitions, and inventory management.
Coordinate logistics and procurement processes in accordance with organizational and donor protocols.

Operational Coordination
Support the Programme Area Head in planning, tracking, and reviewing field activities and outputs.

Grants Operations Officer

The Equality Fund is transforming the way that resources—and power—flow into the hands of women, girls and gender expansive people worldwide. Designed by feminists for feminists, it is a model for sustainably resourcing feminist movements everywhere, through global grantmaking, gender-lens investing, policy advocacy, and feminist philanthropy. Launched in 2019, the Equality Fund has activated $100 million to date which flows to more than 1,000 organizations working across 100 countries. 


THE OPPORTUNITY


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and passionate about contributing to feminist funding by keeping our grantmaking operations running smoothly and equitably.


Reporting to the Director of Grantmaking Operations and Effectiveness and informed by our commitment to Feminist Grantmaking Principles, the Grants Operations Officer plays a key role in supporting the design and delivery of EF’s grantmaking systems and tools. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team to coordinate and administer all stages of the grant cycle—from application to award and post-award follow-up.

SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES


Grantmaking Data, System, and Knowledge Management 

  • Supporting the development and documentation of application, review, grant disbursement and reporting policies, processes and procedures for multiple streams of grantmaking, including the development of manuals and policies; 
  • Working with the SalesForce Administrator, supporting the implementation and customization of the grantmaking database in Salesforce, including training Global Programs team members;
  • Supporting the administration of the due diligence searches;
  • Supporting the ongoing evaluation of internal grantmaking processes and tools, as well as user experience, and recommending modifications as needed;
  • Developing, customizing, and maintaining grantmaking templates as well as online forms on EF’s Salesforce application and reporting portal in all three languages currently supported (English, Spanish, French);
  • Developing and maintaining communication templates (in all languages) and coordinating translations needed;
  • Representing Equality Fund externally as required. 


Grants Management & Grantmaking Support 

  • Supporting the development of a yearly operational planning cycle, including the planning of grant cycles for multiple streams of grantmaking;
  • Acting as a knowledge resource on current grantmaking policies, processes and procedures, identifying gaps and exceptions, and consulting with the Director of Grantmaking Operations on these. Both supporting and leading on the development of additional policies, processes and procedures as needed; 
  • Coordinating grant application, review and award processes & due diligence:
    • Managing application timelines/deadlines;
    • Supporting the shortlisting process;
    • Conducting application reviews, where needed; 
    • Requesting and tracking references and endorsements;
    • Supporting the participatory review process; 
    • Managing communication with applicants; 
    • Tracking review processes and verifying completion of due diligence;
    • Sending grant award notifications and tracking completion of post-award tasks by grantee partners.
  • Coordinating post-award grantmaking processes:
    • Supporting the development and monitoring of dashboards for tracking grantmaking activities;
    • Coordinating reporting timelines/deadlines, report invitations and follow-ups on outstanding reports and Receipt of Funds;
    • Tracking grant reports and reviews;
    • Managing communication with grantee partners, responding to their inquiries. 
  • Working closely with the Finance team, coordinating contract/disbursement process & due diligence:
    • Supporting verification of payment information;
    • Generating and verifying contracts (signers/terms);
    • Supporting the tracking of disbursement progress and issues.
