researchers are working with WRI India in our offices at Delhi, Mumbai and
Bengaluru.
Program
Overview for Sustainable Cities and Transport
At WRI India Ross Center we focus on 10 integrated solutions to urban
challenges. Through applied research, tools, hands-on advice, and by tapping
our network of global experts, we accelerate transformative urban initiatives
that have the power to change Indian cities into thriving, equitable and
low-carbon places that are good for people and the planet.

Position Overview:
The Senior Manager will be a key member of WRI India’s Ross
Centre for Sustainable Cities GeoAnalytics team and will manage and lead a
variety of data driven analyses across our core practice areas, leveraging
data, information and technical expertise to make informed urban infrastructure
choices and design. The role involves working with colleagues across cohorts,
providing core analytical expertise and customized visualization insights using
appropriate spatial modeling tools and methods. By transforming data into
actionable insights and solutions, we aim to assist our stakeholders to design
solutions that enable sustainable city growth.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Collaborate
with teams across practice areas and provide subject matter expertise on
customized analytical solutions and insights to meet project requirements
- Provide
guidance in conducting quantitative research and support internal/external
stakeholders on end-to-end analytics deliverables
- Co-ordinate
and partner with teams across sectors to assess and understand project
needs, scope requirements and lead execution ensuring timely delivery
- Oversee
and provide mentorship to the analytics team on geospatial analyses and
spatial modeling across domains
Research and Innovation
- Enhance
analytical offerings across sectors by conducting innovative analyses
using remote sensing and multi-sectoral datasets and leading new data
driven methods and research efforts
- Contribute
to written outputs including publications, peer-reviewed articles, WRI
working papers, and blog posts
Outreach and Knowledge
Curation
- Co-ordinate
and liaise with the core communications team on content development
strategies to showcase data driven insights via publications and online
platforms
- Establish
best practices and institutional guidelines on methods and analytical
techniques
Qualifications:
- Post-graduation
degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geomatics,
Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Civil Engineering or other related fields
- Preferred
experience in designing data led solutions related to transportation
planning and sustainable mobility strategies
- Strong
communication skills both written and interpersonal with program
management experience
Experience:
- 10+
years of relevant work experience in the Geospatial industry with
expertise in leading teams delivering analytical solutions.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency
in GIS software including ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.x, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS
Online, Quantum GIS, MapInfo or similar
- Experience
with coding, particularly Python, R, Javascript
- Experience
with Google Earth Engine is a strong plus
- Experience
in spatial analysis and modeling (e.g., use of ArcGIS Spatial Analyst
tools, Model Builder, Python scripting, SQL or equivalent)
- Experience
in handling publicly available GIS datasets, crowd-sourcing platforms such
as Open Street Maps and remote-sensing databases
- Business
modeling tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
- Good
understanding of predictive modeling and forecasting techniques
- Experience
with cloud computing and web development is a plus.

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI
