Job Summary:
International Food Policy Research
Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Communication
Associate for the project ReSAKSS South Asia: Policy Evidence for IAT’ to shape
and support South Asia component of the ReSAKSS regional platform. The position
will be based in New Delhi, India.
Recognizing the importance of
knowledge sharing for evidence-based policymaking and mutual accountability,
the Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System in Asia
(ReSAKSS-Asia) lead by IFPRI South Asia was established to promote south-south
learning and enhance networking within and across each of the three
sub-regions— South Asia, Southeast Asia and Central Asia. The Communications
Associate will provide support to the Communications Specialist. Interested
applicants must be authorized to work in India.
Essential Duties:
Specific duties and responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
· Regularly upload content in the IFPRI South Asia website and
change image sliders to keep it updated
· Review and edit publications like policy briefs, project notes, etc for language consistency
adhering to IFPRI style guide· Provide support in collating content and images
to prepare the Quarterly IFPRI SAR newsletter
· Provide support in creating and managing social media
content
· Regularly update the media contacts and draft press releases
· Provide support to organize IFPRI South Asia events
· Provide copy-editing support for publishing communication
materials
· Draft blogs and articles to capture research findings
· Document minutes of meeting for team meetings and key events
for institutional memory
· Provide support to researchers in capturing conference
proceedings
· Regularly update the IFPRI events contact database to
circulate invites for policy seminar, workshops, conferences etc.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication/ PR/ Journalism/
English or 4 years of relevant experience
· Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and multitask under tight
deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
· Demonstrated copy editing skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
· Proficiency in professional communication tools, web-based
platforms and social media
· Basic HTML
Physical Demand & Work
environment:
· Employee will sit in an upright position for a long period
of time
· Employee will lift between 0-10 pounds.
· Employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform
activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing;
viewing computer terminal; extensive reading.
