Function:

Programme & Policy covers Programme Implementation (with partners or direct implementation), Thematic Expertise (technical knowledge in areas of specialization), and Policy & Programme Impact (advocacy, research, monitoring & evaluation, and quality). The function links grass-roots work with policy changes at the highest level, and manages an ecosystem of partnerships including, but not limited to, community organizations, donors, peer organizations, academic institutions, media, and the state.

Role Purpose:

S/he would be responsible for implementation of the project deliverables in the project geography(South East district of Delhi).S/he is overall responsible for providing managerial leadership in health & nutrition focused on strengthening MNCHN essential services & capacitating government system on covid 19 surveillance and also advocating with the district officials/municipal corporation for mobilized commitments and resources for continuation of essential health services during the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic and ensure that the envisioned outcome of the project are accomplished with quality programming and contributing to the success of organizational strategy & breakthroughs.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support in the planning and responsible for implementation of project activities in the targeted villages.
  • Support project assistant in implementation of targeted interventions.
  • Overall responsibility for capacity building of project staff and community members
  • Establish and strengthen relationship with District, Block and Field level officials of health,and ICDS department.
  • Review and verification of all the reports like Monthly/ Quarterly/ Annual Progress Report, and ensure their timely submission

  • Participate and contribute in the development of district level operational plans, including budget. Contribute in the planning of  bi-annual, quarterly and monthly plans.
  • Follow -up with the monthly plan with project assistants.
  • Support Assistant Manager in planning -activity, budget and review.
  • Review the field implementation with Assistant Manager.
  • Consolidate case studies, documents and provide timely and quality reports.
  • Identify new opportunities for intervention; contribute to project proposal building for continuity of intervention.
  • Ensure compliance with SC BR’s policies  and practices, including the Child Safeguarding Policy
  • Undertake appropriate additional responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Experience

>05 years of relevant experience with a reputed national / international NGO/reputed resource agency in health   projects

Background &  knowledge on MNCHN essential services in public health system and other health related subjects.

Qualifications

 

Master in Public Health or Social work  from a recognised university or college is essential.

  • Understanding of health system, policies and key government schemes.
  • Understanding about Child Rights and Protection framework, laws & legislations, trends -and development
  • Understanding of policy and child rights environment in the state of Delhi
  • Understanding on MNCHN services & RMNCHA+ framework, in Delhi and neighbouring states along with COVID 19 symptoms & prevention.
  • Demonstrated ability in working in the area of helath and nutrition
  • Understanding of civil society’s role in the state on child rights
  • Experience of partnership management with NGOs & consortium partners and demonstrated government collaboration
  • Proven collaborative work with the state/district governments.

Either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore a police check will be required.

The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
