IDinsight is hiring a full-time Monitoring and Data Systems Specialist to
grow our consulting practice. This role will focus on advising clients on the
design and implementation of monitoring systems for the social sector, with an
emphasis on Government of India public data initiatives.

About the Role
The Monitoring and Data Systems Specialist will drive the development of IDinsight’s monitoring practice during a period of sustained growth for the company. We are working to build IDinsight into a global leader in the use of monitoring and data systems to solve some of the world’s toughest problems. You will join a team of early career to senior level monitoring and data professionals that will work together with our team of social scientists to best help our clients achieve greater social impact. The Monitoring and Data Systems Specialist will be responsible for achieving these goals by advising clients on monitoring system design, software and vendor selection, and best practices in software development.
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated expertise in data systems design and modern software development practices. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working with Indian government data and data portals.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of
work experience in a software development-related role such as Project
Manager, Product Lead, Data Scientist, or Engineer
- 2 years of
work experience in a client facing role in software or other consulting
context
- Bachelor's
degreein Engineering, Computer Science, Public Policy, Economics or
related technical discipline
- Expertise
in modern software development practices
- Knowledge
of approaches to monitoring and evaluation in the social sector
- Proven
ability to work alone and with teams in a dynamic, multicultural
environment
- Passion for
improving lives through evidence-informed policy
- Strong oral
and written communication skills in English. Fluency in Hindi and other
Indian languages a plus
- Strong
values aligned with IDinsight’s stated values.
- Ability and
interest in sharing knowledge, mentoring others, presenting work and
reviewing the work of others
- Willingness
to put in extra effort when required to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge
of Python and SQL is preferred
- Experience
managing teams
- Experience
working with Government of India data systems
- Master's
degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Public Policy, Economics or
related technical discipline are preferred but not required

This position is based in New Delhi, India. Compensation will be competitive with comparable social sector roles, and commensurate with experience and track record.
