Associate (Programs and Fundraising)

to support the development and operations of our work in India. We are
looking for someone with 4- 6 years of experience in consulting, marketing support, client services, and project management. The
right candidate is bold, creative, and can excel in a fast-paced, start-up
environment.

consequently set up our India office in 2006.The Acumen India team is
responsible for finding, vetting, and managing investments in game-changing
social enterprises that serve the poor in our portfolio sectors: Healthcare,
Education, Agriculture and Energy.
About the Role –Associate (Strategy
& Programs)
The Associate will be joining a team
building to design and implement several initiatives/ programs in our two areas
of focus – Agriculture and Workforce Development. In addition to our direct
investing, we aim to build a platform to support and accelerate the impact of
our portfolio. This includes fundraising, communications, partnerships, and
other special projects that convene the ecosystem of entrepreneurs, funders,
corporations, policymakers, and others addressing these issues. This position
is entrepreneurial and preferred candidates will be excited by a start-up
environment. This position will report to the Associate Director.
More specifically, you will have the
opportunity to be involved in:
Program Management
- Assist the Sector Leads of Agriculture and Workforce
Development in developing Acumen’s designing new intervention models/
innovative initiatives in the two sectors.
- Facilitate program implementation for programs such as
an early-stage accelerator, and manage aspects such as facilitating
virtual workshops, mentor engagement etc.
- Monitor the overall experience and impact of the
programs and identify opportunities for improvement and redesign.
Fundraising
- Manage fundraising operations and process, in close
collaboration with the Sector Leads.
- Generate leads for funders that are capable of
multi-million dollar gifts in interest areas related to Acumen India’s
work.
- Provide research on potential prospects, including
strategy, giving history, existing connections to Acumen community
members, and fit with Acumen India.
- Drive donor/ investor communications, ensuring that
donors/ investors receive correspondence on interest areas in a timely
manner.
Communications
- Liaise with global communications team and external
communications partners to help develop and manage a range of content that
communicates Acumen India’s work
- Work with team to develop new project initiatives based
on communications and platform goals, set priorities, and manage towards
completion.
Qualifications and Characteristics
- 4 - 6 years of work experience, in management/
operations consulting, marketing support, client management and project
management. People who have experience of working with C Suite executives
in the development and execution of key initiatives may also apply.
- Superior financial, modeling and business analysis
skills; demonstrated by prior experience.
- Solid operational skills such as problem solving and
project management, including ability to work and deliver projects
independently, proactively and under pressure.
- Familiarity with the social enterprise and impact
investing sectors; demonstrated commitment to serving the poor is
preferred.
- Strong ability to take initiative with research and
analysis and produce valuable results in conditions of uncertainty.
- Bachelor's Degree from a reputable institute in
Engineering, Economics, Management, Business or Commerce is required;
Masters is preferable.

Compensation
Acumen offers a competitive
compensation package commensurate with experience, including benefits.
