Indian School of Mines, established in 1926 offers 4 yr. B.Tech., 3 yr. M.Sc. Tech., 2 yr. M.Sc., 5 yr. Integrated M.Sc. (Tech.)/M.Sc., 5 yr. Dual Degree (B.Tech. & M. Tech./MBA), 2 yr. M.B.A., 2 yr. M.Tech., full time and part time Ph. D. courses/programmes in Engineering and Basic/ Earth/Social/Applied Sciences, Humanities and Management disciplines.

ISM invites applications from Indian nationals for the following posts:

1. Sr. Technical Assistant: 1 (SC-1)

(1)   Min Educational Qualification: Diploma in relevant branch of Engineering (Civil/Chemical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mining/Computer Sc. & Engg) of three years duration in appropriate field OR B.Sc. in appropriate field (Physics/Geology/Chemistry) with experience in handling of scientific instruments in workshop/laboratory/industry and computer applications as per requirement.

(2)   Experience: 8 years relevant experience with a GP of Rs. 4,200/- or equivalent [For internal candidates - 8 years' experience in the post of Technical Assistant or Equivalent]

(3)   Pay-scale with GP PB:2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + GP Rs. 4,600

(4)   Desirable: Knowledge of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments/execution of project work/field work relevant to different science and engineering departments.

2. Sr. Scientific Assistant: 3 ( OBC-1, SC-1, ST-1 )

(1)   Min Educational Qualification: Diploma in relevant branch of Engineering (Civil/Chemical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mining/Computer Sc. & Engg) of three years duration in appropriate field OR B.Sc. in appropriate field (Physics/Geology/Chemistry) with experience in handling of scientific instruments in

workshop/laboratory/industry and computer applications as per requirement.

(2)  Experience: 8 years relevant experience with a GP of Rs. 4,200/- or equivalent [For internal candidates - 8 years' experience in the post of Scientific Assistant]

(3)  Pay-scale with GP PB:2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + GP Rs. 4,600

(4)  Desirable: Knowledge of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments/execution of project work/field work relevant to different science and engineering departments.

3. Technical Assistant: 7 (UR-3, OBC-1, SC-2, ST-1)

(1)   Min Educational Qualification: Diploma in relevant branch of Engineering (Civil/Chemical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mining/Computer Sc. & Engg.) of three years duration in appropriate field OR B.Sc. in appropriate field (Physics/Geology/Chemistry) with experience in handling of scientific instruments in workshop/laboratory/industry and computer applications as per requirement.

(2)  Experience: 8 years relevant experience with GP of Rs. 2,800/- or equivalent.

(3)  Pay-scale with GP PB:2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + GP Rs. 4,200

(4)  Desirable: Knowledge of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments/execution of project work/field work relevant to different science and engineering departments.

4. Scientific Assistant: 7 ( UR-2, OBC-2, SC-2, ST-1)

(1)  Min Educational Qualification: Diploma in relevant branch of Engineering (Civil/Chemical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mining/Computer Sc. & Engg) of three years duration in appropriate field OR B.Sc. in appropriate field (Physics/Geology/Chemistry) with experience in handling of scientific instruments in workshop/laboratory/industry and computer applications as per requirement.

(2)    Experience: 8 years relevant experience with a GP of Rs. 2,800/-or equivalent

(3)    Pay-scale with GP PB:2: Rs. 9,300-34,800 + GP Rs. 4,200

(4)  Desirable: Knowledge of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments/execution of project work/field work relevant to different science and engineering departments.

5. Junior Engineer (Civil) : (1 Post : UR)

(1) Min Educational Qualification & Experience:

(1)Essential: Three years diploma in Civil Engineering with 55% marks from a recognized institute with a minimum Eight years' experience with a Grade Pay of Rs 2,800/- or equivalent and proficiency in computer applications.

(ii) Desirable: Experience of maintenance and management of large campus shall be preferred. Familiarity in drafting skills by adopting latest Auto CAD packages.

(2) Pay Band-2: Rs. 9,300-34,800/- (PB-1) + gP Rs. 4,200/- and other allowances as admissible.

6. Electrical Supervisor: (1 Post : UR)

(1) Minimum Educational Qualification & Experience:

(1)  Essential: Three years diploma in Electrical Engineering with 55% marks from a recognized institute with a minimum Eight years' experience with a Grade Pay of Rs 2,800/- or equivalent and proficiency in computer applications.

(ii) Desirable: Experience of maintenance and management of large campus shall be preferred.

(2)  Pay Band-2: Rs. 9,300-34,800/- (PB-1) + GP Rs. 4,200/- and other allowances as admissible.

General Information:

1)    Reservation for SC/ ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman as per Central Govt. Rules.

2)    Persons employed in Government/Semi-Government Organizations/Autonomous Bodies should submit their applications through proper channel.

3)    Degree as referred above should have been awarded by a recognized University/Institute.

4)    Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. Institute may adopt any suitable criteria to shortlist the number of candidates. Institute may relax the minimum criteria for educational qualification and/or experience for suitable candidates. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection/interview. Canvassing in any manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.

5)    Incomplete applications or application without attested copies of certificates or received after the last date are liable to be rejected.

6)    Legal disputes with Indian School of Mines, if any, are restricted to the jurisdiction of Dhanbad courts only.

7)    No interim inquiries will be entertained.
