SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE-IV FOR SC/ST CATEGORY IN NON-MANAGEMENT CADRE
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a subsidiary of ONGC and a Schedule W Mini Ratna CPSE, is focused on growth and efficiency. The company is recognized today as the leading refinery in India in terms of all round performance, having won many awards for Energy conservation, Safety, Quality, Exports etc.
MRPL invites applications from eligible Indian nationals belonging to SC/ST category for the following Non-management positions. Please note that a candidate belonging to SC shall apply only for posts earmarked for SC and similarly a candidate belonging to ST shall apply only for posts earmarked for ST category.
1.      Technical Assistant- B(Chemical), 10 Posts, Scale of pay-11900- 32000, Max. age as on 31/08/15 - 35 Years
·         Minimum qualification - B.Sc. (Chemistry) with minimum 40% marks in aggregate / 3 Years Diploma in Chemical Engineering with minimum 40% marks in aggregate. Candidates should have minimum 2 years of relevant post qualification work experience in a Chemical/Petrochemical/Fertilizer/Petroleu m Refinery/Pharmaceutical/Cement/ Iron and steel Industry.
2.      Technical Assistant-B (Electrical- Power plant), 4 Posts, Scale of pay-11900- 32000, Max. age as on 31/08/15 - 35 Years
·         Minimum qualification - 3 Years Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 40% marks in aggregate.Candidate should have minimum 2 years of relevant post qualification power plant operation experience and /or associate utilities of power plant.
Candidates having experience in the following areas will be given preference:
(a)   Operation of electric switch yard/EDG Sets/HT/LT Switch gears and auxiliary electrical systems related to power plant.
(b)        Operation of steam turbine generators/Gas Turbine generators along with H.R.S.G.
(c)  Operation of power plant utilities like DM Plant/Cooling tower/Air Comp. and Nitrogen Plant/Raw water treatment plant.

3.      Technical Assistant-B (Mechanical- Power plant), 7 Posts, Scale of pay-11900- 32000, Max. age as on 31/08/15 - 35 Years
·         Minimum qualification - 3 Years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 40% marks in aggregate.Candidate should have minimum 2 years of relevant post qualification power plant operation experience and/or associate utilities of power plant.
Candidates having experience in the following area will be given preference:
1)    Candidates having Boiler Attendant Certificate.
2)  Operation experience in high pressure boilers and associate auxiliaries.
3)   Steam turbine/gas turbine along with H.R.S.G.
4)  Utilities like DM Plant/Cooling tower/Air Comp. and Nitrogen Plant/Raw water treatment plant/Fuel oil pump house.
4.      Technical Assistant-B (Instrumentation) - 2 Posts, Scale of pay-11900- 32000, Max. age as on 31/08/15 - 35 Years
·         Minimum qualification - 3 years diploma in Instrumentation /Electronics & Communication Engineering;
with minimum 40% marks in aggregate. Candidate should have minimum 2 years of relevant post qualification work experience specific with regard to position applied for in a Chemical/Petrochemical/Fertilizer/Engineering/Pharmaceutical/Power/Cement/Textile/ Distillery/Aerospace/Iron & Steel/Refinery industry.
5.      Technical Assistant-A (Chemical), 2 Posts, Scale of pay-12800- 35000, Max. age as on 31/08/15 - 39 Years
·         Minimum qualification - B.Sc. (Chemistry) with minimum 40% marks in aggregate / 3 Years Diploma in Chemical Engineering with minimum 40% marks in aggregate. Candidates should have minimum 5 years of relevant post qualification work experience in a Chemical/Petrochemical/Fertilizer/ Petroleum Refinery/Pharmaceutical/ Cement/ Iron and steel industry.
6.      Technical Assistant-A (Mechanical) - 2 Posts, Scale of pay-12800- 35000, Max. age as on 31/08/15 - 39 Years

·         Minimum qualification - 3 years diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 40% marks in aggregate. Candidates should have minimum 5 years of relevant post qualification work experience specific with regard to position applied for in a Chemical/Petrochemical/Fertilizer/Engineering/Pharmaceutical/Power/Cement/Textiles /Distillery/Aerospace/Iron & Steel/Refinery industry.

Note: The maximum age limit mentioned above includes 5 years relaxation applicable to SC/ST as per Government Guidelines.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Candidates are requested to read the web advertisement
carefully and should satisfy themselves about meeting the eligibility criteria before applying for the said positions.
1.    The cutoff date for deciding the maximum permissible age and experience (wherever applicable) as per eligibility criteria shall be the last day of the month subsequent to the month in which the advertisement is issued that is 31/08/2015. Experience shown must be the minimum relevant experience for the function, after obtaining necessary qualification (post qualification work experience) including 'On the Job' training period. In order to compute post qualification work experience, the period of work experience starting from the month immediately succeeding the month and year of final examination in which the candidate acquires the minimum essential educational qualification shall be considered. Percentage of marks should be aggregate of all years/semesters i.e., total marks obtained over total maximum marks of all years/semesters without giving any weightage to any particular year/semester.
2.    The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
3.    Important Instruction
The application form in the prescribed format available in the website (click here)
shall be duly filled in legible handwriting and the candidate shall ensure that all the fields are filled properly. Application not in the prescribed format shall be summarily rejected. The self attested copies of all educational qualifications mentioned in the application form have to be attached. The candidate shall also attach proper experience documents clearly indicating the date of joining and release from the previous employers. Experience certificate as indicated is compulsory in case the candidate has been released from the employer. For establishing the work experience where the candidate is presently employed, the appointment letter/offer letter clearly indicating the date of joining shall be enclosed. In case the offer letter is enclosed,
then the candidate has to attach a valid document clearly showing the date of actual joining. In order to establish the continuity of employment with the present employer, the candidate has to attach the latest pay slip. Please note that pay slip alone will not be considered as proof of work experience. The dates mentioned in the application form should match with the corresponding dates mentioned in the attached proof of experience. Incomplete applications not supported by copies of relevant documents in support of age, qualifications (mark sheet/degree), experience and caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/PWD), not fulfilling the eligibility criteria or those received after the last date of receipt of applications shall not be considered and treated as Rejected. While applying for a post in response to the advertisement, candidates must ensure that all particulars filled by them in the application format are correct and complete in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage of the recruitment process that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria or has submitted false information or has suppressed any material facts, his/her candidature will automatically stand cancelled. If any of the above shortcomings are detected even after appointment, his/her services are liable to be terminated without any notice. In case any of the above mentioned conditions are not fulfilled, the application of the candidate will be summarily rejected and no communication in this regard will be entertained.
4. Selection Process
Selection process for TS-5 grade post shall consist of Written Test and Interview. The candidates will have to qualify at each stage of the selection process. The company shall arrange for pre-recruitment briefing on written test for SC/ST candidates. For TS-4 grade post, the selection process will be based on personal interview only.

Candidates should submit their applications in the enclosed format, affix recent passport size photograph along with self attested photo copies of Date of birth proof, Educational Certificates (Semester-wise / year-wise mark sheets and Degree / Diploma certificates), Experience certificates for each experience claimed clearly mentioning the start and end date of experience (for the current employment, joining date proof and latest pay slip will be sufficient) and Caste certificate/PWD certificate/Ex- servicemen proof, wherever applicable, in the format prescribed by the Central Government. Documents shall be submitted in a closed envelope, super scribing the envelope with the position applied for, within the last date for receipt of documents, only by Post / Courier to the Sr.Manager (HR-Recruitment), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, Post Kuthethur, Via Katipalla, Mangalore - 575030, Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka state. Documents sent by Email or hand delivery will not be considered.
