We are seeking a dynamic, and self-motivated professional with excellent organizational and people skills for the position ofProcurement Analyst.

The position will be based in Delhi, India.

The main responsibilities of this position will be: 

  • Support for procurement, general administration and related activities for CIMMYT-BISA across India in compliance with the institutional policies
  1. Establish and maintain system of internal controls for tracking purchases and smooth Procurement to Pay Process (P2P)
  2. Handling total process of procurement of good and services based on Institutional requirements including customs clearance of imports
  3. Verifying and processing all documents for procurements for site offices (request for quotation, purchase request form, quotations, comparative matrix, procurement committee recommendation etc.)
  4. Coordination with HQ procurement team (for generation of high value POs) and with HQ legal team (for generation of purchase agreements, service contracts etc.)
  5. Identify, propose, and develop relations with new suppliers according to Institutional needs
  6. Coordinating delivery and ensuring timely payments to vendors by verifying the invoices and submission to finance for payment processing 
  7. Maintaining digital and hardcopy documentation of all procurement records
  • Verifying and keeping record of all documents related to sale of farm produce at site offices in India
  • Assist in preparation of Annual Maintenance Contracts, Lease Contracts and other service agreements in consultation with HQ Legal 
  • Supporting training and capacity building of staff of different CIMMYT-BISA site offices for procurement procedures
  • Execute any other activities assigned by the supervisor

We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills, and attitudes:

  • A relevant recognized university graduation degree in Commerce, Business or Administration. Additional qualifications related to the job are desirable.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of performing similar jobs.
  • Excellent knowledge of Office software packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal knowledge of English.
  • The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies: Teamwork, Time Management, Communication, Creative Thinking, Pro-Activity and Customer orientation.
  • Strong inter-personal, communication, networking and negotiating skills.
  • The candidate must exhibit sense of urgency and commitment to his /her responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to different project sites, as required.
  • Knowledge of ERP Software is desirable.

The position is for an initial fixed-term contract of 1 year, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds. CIMMYT offers an attractive remuneration package, with a range of benefits including health insurance.
