 Ashoka is the largest network of leading social entrepreneurs with systems changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems. Since 1981, Ashoka has elected and supported over 3,800 social entrepreneurs (Ashoka Fellows) in 90 countries. Through their work, these social entrepreneurs also enable millions of changemakers and contribute to Ashoka’s vision: building an everyone a changemaker world.  Ashoka functions as a collaborative network that supports and amplifies change by bringing together not only Ashoka Fellows, but also other changemakers who are committed to the good of all. 

ASPI-Re is a program co-created by Ashoka and Societal Platform to pioneer and codify how to unleash network effects for social change through platforms, in partnership with Ashoka Fellows, to activate large social-impact movements.

 The Opportunity

Ashoka is looking for a smart, resourceful, bright, and creative individual with a passion for social entrepreneurship and innovation to join our ASPI-Re global team.   Below are a few details of the role we are looking to fulfill

Program Implementation (40%):

  • Ensure complete implementation of program design
  • Ensure rigorous and high-quality end-to-end program delivery including organization of the webinars, content sent to participating Social Entrepreneurs, etc.
  • Ongoing stakeholder engagement, and operations support
  • Ensure on-time deliverables in adherence to the timeline of the program, etc.
  • Partnership management with partner organization
  • Monitor, track and report feedback and online reviews if any.
  • Organize and manage events

Community Management – Ashoka Fellows (Participating Social Entrepreneurs) (40%):

  • Main point person for the participating Social Entrepreneurs and their advisory teams during the ASPI-Re journey as needed.
  • Development and oversight of an automated “feedback loop” mechanism to assess the progress of the teams going through the process.
  • Ensure ongoing improvement of the journey in liaison with the Design team.
  • Create a routine of regular two-way engagements: discussions, idea-exchange forum, networking spaces, events, etc. for Fellows

Internal & External Communications (20%): 

  • Lead on-going communication of content and routine cadences with Fellow Social Entrepreneurs
  • Handle PR, social media activities, events, and content creation
  • Identify and organize Community-focused communications
  • Timely sharing of content with the participating Social Entrepreneurs
  • Coordination for all internal report generation, feedback collection and timely submission to the required stakeholders.

 The ideal candidate:

The successful candidate will be highly organized and analytical, have excellent time management and multitasking skills, able to work on own initiative and under minimal supervision, self-motivated, good writing skills, a strong team player and able to communicate clearly and efficiently with diverse audiences. In addition, the candidate will possess the ability to constructively work on feedback, have an outgoing personality who is passionate about building good brand experience and strong consciousness about key proceedings in the program.

 Ashoka has a rigorous screening process for hiring staff at all career stages. All applicants for all positions must possess the following qualities along with the appropriate degree of experience:

  • Entrepreneurship/Intrapreneurship: Compelled to take creative initiative and ownership (e.g. founding an organization or company, starting a movement, or re-shaping the work of an existing organization). Demonstrates relentless and realistic how-to-thinking and passion for seeing their ideas come to life.
  • Understanding and Belief in the Everyone a Changemaker: Understands and believes the Everyone a Changemaker vision at a gut level. To be able to innately ‘get’ this, candidates should have a broad and inquisitive intellectual and a thinking pattern that connects the dots between historical trends and current social context.
  • Emotional and Social Intelligence: Ability to work efficiently and respectfully in teams, putting organizational/team goal first (personal glory second).
  • Ethical Fiber: Exceptionally strong ethical behavior. Is self-reflective and has strong empathy skills. Trustworthy.
  • Self-Definition: The person expects that changing the world in big ways and on a continental scale is what he/she will do in life.
