Job Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Head – IRRI Education, the incumbent will work on innovative education technology solutions (such as for adaptive learning, MOOCs, AR/VR/MR, AI for education and training, etc.) for IRRI and manage knowledge management (KM) portfolio, by taking care Rice Knowledge Bank. The incumbent is expected to research and innovate, suggest, implement, and manage appropriate education technology and knowledge management solutions for IRRI Education.

This position will be based at the IRRI South Asia Regional Center (ISARC) at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and be filled in only by permanent citizens of India. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

·         Explore, innovative, implement and manage education technology solutions for adaptive learning, MOOCs, AR/VR/MR, etc. for IRRI Education

·         Maintain and update the Rice Knowledge Bank and provide technical assistance to RKB projects

·         Support the course development (short courses and e-learning) team in designing, developing, and delivery of courses, as required

·         Explore other dynamic / AI-driven knowledge management/content management platforms (LMS and CMS)

·         Provide web development, multimedia, and technological support for the IE team

·         Maintain and manage IRRI’s existing LMS

·         Support in fund generation activities of IE

·         Engage with the content developer/scientist/consultant for the course and content development

·         Contribute to team meetings/workshops to fuel ideas for EdTech and knowledge management

·         Engage with internal and external stakeholders for EdTech and KM portfolio works

·         Engage with e-learning team of IRRI Education to support in designing, technical inputs, and delivery of the online courses

·         Review the statistics on RKB usage and provide reports to the OU Head on a quarterly basis or as needed

·         Explore, pilot, and implement innovative education technology and knowledge management solutions for IRRI

·         Design visual identity and theme for online courses

·         Integrate the static content of the course on to the digitized module, and integrate assessment on to

the digitized module.

·         Produce interactive content for the project, produce/edit video materials for the project, and produce prototypes for testing and evaluation of e-course.

·         Provide support on information management to National Rice Knowledge Banks

·         Maintain up-to-date version/patch of the website platform

·         Maintain existing LMS of IRRI

Qualifications

Masters in Computer Science/IT/Digital Multimedia or related field with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in education technology.

Skills Required

Mandatory

·         Good experience of working with EdTech and KM solutions

·         Good experience with LMS, MOOCs, and CMS.

·         Has knowledge and experience of using a wide range of software for videos, photos, and interactive content.

·         Knowledge of developing online courses using e-learning authoring tools.

Preferred

·         Experience of education technology, knowledge management, etc.

·         Has experience in online course development and delivery.

·         Has good experience in knowledge management (LMS and CMS) solutions and platforms

Allowances

·         House-Rent Allowance: IRRI provides a house rent allowance of 40% of base pay per month.

·         Transport Allowance: A monthly transport allowance is provided to NRS L5: INR 4,000

·         Dearness Allowance: One Hundred and Thirteen percent (113%) of employee’s base pay.

·         Leave Travel Allowance (LTA): One-month base pay per annum, on availing minimum 2 days of vacation leave

·         Education Allowance: INR 1000/- per child per month (limited 2 children)
