Save the Children in India works on 5 core themes: Child Survival, Education, Child Protection, Humanitarian and Disaster and Risk Management in collaboration with the Government, civil society organizations, and the community across 16 states and has reached over 3 million children across India.
About the Project
Save the Children is directly implementing project on “ENABLING DELIVERY OF ESSENTIAL HEALTH SERVICES TO THE MOST MARGINALISED CHILDREN AND FAMILIES DURING COVID 19 OUTBREAK. The project is for a period of 1 year and will be implemented in N Ward and M East Ward of Mumbai.
We are looking for a Manager for overall management and implementation of the health programme in Mumbai.
LOCATION: Mumbai
REPORTING: to Sr. Manager, Maharashtra State Office
Contributes to the planning and implementation of projects. Identifies key stakeholders, beneficiaries and grassroots leaders, guides team for -counselling the community members, arranges community meetings and addresses the community on pertinent issues, facilitates training, established networks and linkages with the government department of health and women and child development, development of proposals ;prepares monthly plans and reports.
Role Purpose:
Under the overall guidance, the Manager will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring and measuring all program activities under the project named  ““ENABLING DELIVERY OF ESSENTIAL HEALTH SERVICES TO THE MOST MARGINALISED CHILDREN AND FAMILIES DURING COVID 19 OUTBREAK”. The Manager will act as Save the Children’s advocacy representative to a broad range of external stakeholders including relevant government departments on issues related to Child Rights. S/he will work in close collaboration with the project team, government officials and other stakeholders.
Role & responsibilities (<5):
Programme Support:
•    With support from senior technical colleagues, carry out heath assessments in coordination 
•    Implement project as set out in project planning documents, flagging up both successes and risks to senior managers in a timely manner.
•    Support the preparation of programme and donor reports on project activities. 
•    Identify project supplies needs and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure materials arrive in good time.
•    Carry out monitoring and evaluation of project activities as agreed in a monitoring and evaluation framework.
•    Ensure that projects are carried out with participation from all relevant stakeholders, including disaster affected children and their families.
Representation & Advocacy & Organisational Learning:
•    Participate in Coordination forums at field office level, Mumbai Municipal Cooperation officials sharing information from Save the Children programmes.
•    In collaboration with other senior Health and WASH colleagues, participate in feeding in learning, experiences 
General:
•    Deliver results in line with the current proposals and Save the Children’s strategy 
•    Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of

conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
•    To perform such other responsibilities as agreed with your line management.

REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION 
•    Assist the Social Worker & teams in submission of all data as and when required. 
•    Submit daily plans and update state lead 
•    Make weekly and monthly plans and get them approved by the Project coordinator
 
Other requirements: 
•    Support for Comply with the Requirements of Save the children’s Child safeguarding Policy to ensure maximum protection for children.
•    Ensure that you work to the best of your ability and demonstrate high levels of Commitment to SC in order to ensure the objectives of your role and the country programme are met.
•    Ensure the efficient use of all SC resources in order to maximize use of resources for benefiting children.
•    •    Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to applicable timeframes and formats
•    Reach out to other actors to find those who can respond to needs which go beyond resources

Reporting:
Direct (solid-line) to Senior Program Manager - MHSPO
Key relationships: (Internal & External stakeholders) 
Internal Stakeholders (collaborates with): Multi Thematic & multi-functional team at Project Office level
External Stakeholders: Nashik Municipal Coorperation,Education Department; Health Department, Teachers,Principals, SMC members and children

Experience      Required:
•    Minimum 5-8 years of working experience, including minimum 3 years of working in Health & WASH-related programmes
•    Commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
•    Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation 
•    Commitment to capacity building and developing others
•    Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Strong influencing skills
•    Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
•    A high level of written and spoken English 
•    The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.

    
Qualifications
Post-graduate degree in social sciences/ civil/water engineering or related discipline from a recognized university or college is essential;       weight will be given to candidates having additional qualification & experience on Community Development, Women and Child Welfare, Education etc.
Skills & Knowledge       Professional Competencies
Desirable:
•    Oral and written Language skills in English and Marathi
•    Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts
•    Humanitarian programming experience will be  
•    preferred
