About the Payroll Administrator role

The Payroll Administrator on the Global Operations team will independently own and operate numerous systems, procedures, and software that facilitate the smooth functioning of our global payroll and compensation processes. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for administering monthly payroll efficiently and accurately on a regular schedule, for each of our office and project countries. As needed, and often in collaboration with stakeholders at all levels, the Payroll Administrator will be charged with improving the functionality of these processes.

PRANA Project:
TNC USA has been successful in securing a significant grant from the Bezos Earth Fund for the Promoting Regenerative and No-burn Agriculture (PRANA) Project in India.  The expected outcomes for the successful delivery of the project over three years are as follows:

·         At least 6 million tonnes of CO2-e mitigation through the elimination of burning on 1 million hectares of cropland (half the area currently burned)

·         At least 250,000 farmers adopt zero-burning cropping systems

·         500 billion litres of water saved from enhanced soil health and agronomy

·         A pilot financial instrument that incentivizes farmers to adopt no-burn practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Position Summary

We seek a Human Resources (HR) Manager to provide HR support to a major collaborative initiative of Regenerative Agriculture called PRANA and to independently manage all the HR needs of the entity. The Human Resources Manager provides high level services and strategic direction in one or more of the following human resource functions: employee relations, compensation, talent management, benefits, payroll, staff development and training, organizational development and recruiting for the India entity.  S/he reports to Senior Director with a dotted line reporting to Director Operations. The position is based out of Delhi. This is a 3-year project-based position with possibility for renewal subject to funding and project extensions.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

·         Bachelor’s degree and 6 years HR related experience or equivalent combination.

·         Experience managing the administration, progress and maintenance of human resource functions for one or more of the following: employee relations, compensation and performance management, benefits, payroll, staff development/training, organizational development, and recruiting.

·         Experience working with senior managers to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives.

·         Experience using MS Office software with experience in constructing and producing reports, data manipulation, and analysis.

·         Fluency in English is a must.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         MBA in HR or equivalent qualification with at least 10 years related experience or equivalent combination.

Main purpose of the job:

The South Asia and Afghanistan region is served by a Regional Human Resources Hub based out of New Delhi, covering 20 Posts in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. We work with Posts' Corporate Services Teams and Senior Leaders to ensure HR best practices, to support operationally and to advise strategically. 

The Regional HR Hub provides key HR Services (recruitments, pay and reward, talent and performance management and HR enquiries) to customers across the region and provides a strategic and professional HR capability to support Regional Senior Leaders in delivery of business of objectives. The HR Hub forms an integral part of the global HR offer to staff working in the overseas network for the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, and leads on all region specific HR issues in collaboration with the London based HR Directorate.

This is an exciting regional role in the HR Hub located in New Delhi servicing offices in the South Asia and Afghanistan region. The incumbent will be responsible for managing end to end recruitment campaigns of Local Staff for the assigned offices in the region and deliver successfully as per the agreed service level agreement and process payroll and related payments as per the agreed service level agreement and work closely with the respective managers to carry out detailed analysis on Recruitments and Payroll for Local Staff working at British High Commission/Embassies in the region.

The HR Officer will be responsible for setting up, processing and auditing payroll and related payments for locally employed staff working at British Embassies, High Commissions and other Offices located in the South Asia and Afghanistan region.
